The city that never sleeps has been my city for as long as I could remember. When I was 11 my dad took me to New York for the first time. We stayed in Manhattan and saw the lighting ceremony of the tree in Rockefeller center and I got a taste of the most magical place I have ever been.
New York City has been my goal since I was eleven years old. I’ve always said that I would end up there. Pack my bags and call me Carrie because this Bradshaw wants to head on over to the concrete jungle. New York holds a chapter of a life for me that involves finding myself, figuring out what I want my life to be and defining it the best way I can.
This is a feeling that hasn’t changed in over 10 years now. Every time I’m there it feels absolutely right and I try to go as often as I can for any reason in the world. It feels like greatness and I love that feeling. That I can do anything and build anything and create this life in such a place that the magic is just constantly flying around you.
Manhattan has a spell on me that I can’t really define it consumes me in a way that no one ever could. I constantly think about starting to save as much as I can and making the move to Manhattan before I turn 23.
Wouldn’t it be amazing to explore the rest of my early 20’s in a city like New York? Living the life style of Manhattan. I think it might just be the most remarkable thought I have ever had.
Who knows, maybe this time next year I’ll be sharing a 4 foot walk up apartment with 4 other roommates and loving every minute of it. To some people it sounds terrible and crazy to spend so much money to live in a small space with other people when you can have a one bedroom to yourself back home but to me it makes all the sense in the world.
I cant help but picture it. A life in the city, all the magic that it entails and I hope to get to follow through on this dream as soon as possible. There’s no where I’d rather be.
Manhattan is such a cool place, can´t wait to return there 🙂 thanks for sharing! greetings from Lisbon, PedroL
